  • Optical Design - custom optical design for non-imaging applications
  • Lighting system analysis for unusual or complex architectural spaces
  • Lighting system design
  • Product testing and evaluation

Lumen Designer is the latest release of the industry standard "Lumen" series. Lumen Micro, first introduced in 1982 and a long time industry standard in manufacturer-independent lighting design and analysis software, is the predecessor to Lumen Designer.  These packages provide complete analysis of indoor/outdoor lighting calculations as well as daylighting. Plus, Lumen Designer adds state-of-the-art visualization. Several other lighting software packages utilize LTI's core technologies, including Cooper Lighting's Luxicon and Genlyte Thomas' Genesys II software.

Photopia is a general 3D luminaire design and analysis program that has evolved from Lighting Technologies' broad knowledge of luminaire analysis techniques, ranging from non-diffuse radiative transfer to non-specular 3D raytracing.  Photopia's calculational basis is probabilistic raytracing, using real lamp geometries and measured intensity distributions as well as measured directional reflectance data for luminaire materials.  Photopia's mission is to aid the luminaire design process by predicting 3D candela and surface illuminance distributions of luminaires constructed in a CAD program (DXF file format).  Photopia provides a faster and less costly means of evaluating the performance of proposed luminaire designs than physical prototyping.   Computer analysis of virtual prototypes means the time and cost associated with constructing and testing physical prototypes can be greatly reduced.

In addition to the comprehensive software tools listed here, Lighting Technologies provides a complete range of lighting consulting services.  The technical expertise, mathematical insights, and practical experiences of each member of the technical staff combine to form a potent resource which can be applied to any difficult lighting problem.
