Calculate
Lumen
Designer maintains LTI's reputation for
accurate lighting calculations that you can count
on. Like its predecessor, Lumen Micro, Lumen Designer
utilizes radiosity calculations to determine the lighting
levels in the entire space. What's new is the ability
to calculate any geometry with real world materials.
This includes specular and transparent materials such
as marble, granite, or glass. All of this at speeds
that allow you to concentrate on designing the space
- not calculating it.
-
Radiosity
plus Raytrace calculations : state-of-the-art
calculations handle any geometry - from sloped ceilings
to curved meshes. The addition of raytrace-based
calculations and hybrid meshing algorithms produce
realistic renderings incorporating real world materials
such as glass, marble, granite, etc. The result
is not only a pretty picture, but comprehensive
lighting calculations for your space.
- Daylighting
: just like Lumen Micro, Lumen Designer includes the
ability to calculate the effects of natural lighting
within a space. Calculate daylighting for any location,
any time of year, any time of day, and for multiple
sky conditions (such as clear and cloudy).
- Global
Daylighting Maps - Global maps make the determination
of longitude and latitude for daylighting analysis
as simple as clicking on your location.
- Calculation
Metrics : compute illuminance (any meter
orientation, any surface or any point in space).
-
Material Library : Lumen Designer includes
a library of real materials coupled with a powerful
material editor to create the rest. The library
includes an assortment of painted surfaces, woods,
bricks, concretes, glass, marbles, granites, etc.
The editor allows you to modify material properties
to match almost any material - including specular
materials, transparent materials and textured materials.
-
Easy
Grid Creation : Using the Grid Wizard,
quickly create calculation grids of any complexity,
such as:
-
Rectangular - Easily window or enter the coordinates
of a simple, rectangular grid
-
Polygonal - Automatically create a complex polygonal
grid using existing geometry, either imported
from a DXF/DWG file or created with the internal
CAD system.
-
Linear - Create a grid along a polyline
- Unlimited
Statistical Areas and Masking - Add multiple
statistical summary areas of any shape to grids. A
wide selection of masking options allows you to define
the shape of your calculation points to any configuration.
- On-Screen
Summaries : average light levels, uniformities,
watts per square foot, luminaire counts, and other
standard metrics are available on-screen as your work.
The grid summary displays all your grids in an easy
to read format.
- Lamp
color temperature and color : Lumen
Designer accounts for the lamp color temperature (in
degrees Kelvin) to accurately show the differences
between fluorescent lighting versus incandescent (for
example). You can also change the lamp color - perfect
for applications of color gels.
