Lumen Designer's built-in CAD system
includes features you might not expect in lighting
design software - but should. These include multiple
undo/redo, multiple object snaps, command line interface,
dynamic CAD views (including pan, orbit, dolly,
tilt, and a full selection of zooms), multiple UCS
and construction planes for 3D drawing.
CAD Views
Much more than just a view, Designer's CAD views allow you to select objects (even when in perspective mode), edit objects, and place objects.
Advanced features such as object snaps, multiple undo/redo, and dynamic viewing (pan, orbit, dolly, tilt, zooms, etc) make model building easy. |

Layer Management
Geometry is arranged by layers to make selection, editing, and material application easy.
You can add your own layers to organize your project. |
 |
DXF
and AutoCAD© DWG support
Import
your CAD files directly into Lumen Designer - including
the 3Dfaces, polygons, and meshes. Assign materials
as needed, easily orient the surfaces with Lumen
Designer’s advanced orientation tools, and
you're ready to calculate. At the end of your
project, you can export your design back out to
DXF or DWG file formats. |
|
Advanced Surface Creation Tools
Advanced extrusion tools, revolve tools, and other surface creation tools allow you to create and edit complex geometry.
Some tools, such as polygon to mesh, allow you to build models tuned for better display and calculation speed. Something you won't find in AutoCAD. |
|
Block Replacement
With this feature you can
identify any named blocks imported from your DXF or
DWG files (such as lighting fixture symbols) and replace
them with Lumen Designer objects, such as luminaires.
This can save you hours of time and makes full use
of the information already in the CAD files you import.
