While Lumen Designer has the power
to tackle virtually any project through its advanced
CAD system, ease of use was the driving force
behind its creation. You can design the majority of
your projects without ever tapping into the vast capabilities
of the 3D CAD system. The Quick Start screen, for example, gets you up and running in just a few clicks - with the room, the calculation grids, and the lighting layout.
Quick Start Interior
Designer's Quick Start Interior screen allows you to quickly add a new room, a workplane calculation grid, and a lighting layout to meet your target illuminance.
Enter the room characteristics (floor plan, ceiling geometry, dimensions, reflectances), select a luminaire type, and enter your target light level. Then click Create Room & Lighting to have Designer build the space and add the lighting automatically. |

Designer Wizards
Built-in Wizards allow you to create complex spaces
in just seconds. For building rooms, simply follow the prompts to create
any room outline (including polygonal and L-shapes),
flat ceilings, sloped ceilings, gable roofs, barrel
vaults, or any complex ceiling mesh. Then have the
Wizard automatically create a grid at a specified
workplane. |

1. CAD View: any view, any orientation, color coded for readability, etc. Even have multiple views open at once.
2. The Designer "tabs" organize similar functionality. The Shortcut Menu gives you quick access to common features.
3. Properties window allows you to quickly edit objects selected in the CAD view. See the changes on-the-fly.
4. Grid Summary: View grid results for all your grids easily while you work.
5. Command line: Familiar to AutoCAD, and for those who like to type commands, this provides a command line interface. |
