Q:
How do I add a calculation grid to a different surface,
and how do I move an existing calculation grid?
A: Generally, calculation grid placement
is determined by the position and orientation of your
CPlane. Wherever your CPlane is, you can draw a calculation
grid. In this way, you can add a calculation grid to
any surface, or at any position and orientation in space.
To simply shift the CPlane up or down (perpendicular
to the Z axis), click Tools > Shift CPlane Z >
then type a distance on the Command Line. This will
enable you to add calculation grids at different heights
parallel to the floor plane.
Alternately, you can use OSnaps to add a calculation
grid to any surface.
Once you have added a calculation grid to your model,
you can always select it and move it using the Move
function.
Please reference the online help topics 'Adding Calculation
Grids' and 'Creating and Changing CPlanes'. The options
for using these functions are available in the Tools
and Add Menus.
Q: How do I set the decimal precision in Lumen Designer?
A: Select the grid in the CAD view to have its properties display in the Property Editor. Scroll down to Display -> Display Precision. You can set the this for each individual metric by switching the displayed metric.
Q: How do I set iso contour values for my grid in Lumen Designer?
A: Select the grid in the CAD view to get the grid properties in the Property Editor and scroll down to Display. Contours can be set to Off, Manual, or AutoLinear.
AutoLinear – will assign the contour values for you based on a linear scale from min to max (5 steps).
Manual - User defined values. Access the Grid Properties screen by double clicking on the grid name located at the bottom of your screen above the command line. Select the Display Settings tab and expand the C Values field. Use the key pipe (via Shift + \) to create the separator bar between the values. Example "2 | 5 | 10".
