Q:
When I try to access the luminaire library, I get this
error message: "The product library was not found.
Please install the product library." What should
I do?
A: To
keep the installation size manageable, and make the
most current luminaire product databases available,
Lumen Designer enables you to choose and install only
the libraries you need after installing the main program.
You also have the option of switching between databases
(e.g. North American and European databases) from within
the software. Here are the steps to install luminaire
product databases:
1. On Lumen Designer’s Main Menu, click Tools
> Product Library Manager.
2. Click Install Lighting Library.
3. Browse the \Library\ directory of the Lumen Designer
CD or the folder you downloaded into from the LTI web
site.
4. Select the .MDB database from which you want to specify,
e.g. LTI NA 2003.mdb
5. Click Yes to install the Product Database locally,
or to a network location so all users in your office
can access it.
6. Specify a new path for the database, (We recommend:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\LTI\Shared\Library\Lighting
Products\)
7. Click Save. The database is now copied to that new
location.
8. Under Installed Libraries, select the database you
want to view in the Luminaire Search screen.
9. Click Close. Now you will be able to build a Luminaire
Schedule in Lumen Designer.
Q. How do I adjust the suspension or mounting of a luminaire array?
A: Select the array and edit the Distance field in the Property Editor under Geometry Type. The value is relative to Placement type or Z-Adjustment (e.g. Suspended or Mounting Height).
Note: The Z-Adjustment is defined in the Luminaire Center when the luminaire type is initially added to the Luminaire Schedule.
Q.
How do I turn on Iso-Templates for luminaires and poles?
A:
Go to File > Project Settings > Iso-Templates.
Q.
How do I change the tilt or orientation of each luminaire
in an array?
A:
Select the array and scroll down to Element tilt and
Orientation.
Q.
How to I reorient entire luminaire array as a block?
A:
Select the array and scroll down to Geometry > Orientation.
Array will rotate around the center axis of the original
element. Alternatively, you can try the rotate command
and clicking on a point in the CAD view to rotate around.
Q.
How do I replace an existing luminaire with another
from the schedule?
A:
Select the luminaire you wish to replace. Click on the
Type ID cell in the Property Editor under General to
view all available luminaires types in the schedule.
Note:
The Z-Adjustment is defined in the Luminaire Center
when the luminaire type is initially added to the Luminaire
Schedule.
