Q: I
am getting a Run Time Error 429: "ActiveX
component can't create object" when I run Lumen Micro.
A:
The installation did not properly register a file needed by
Lumen Micro with the Windows registry. This can be resolved
by following the instructions outlined below:
- Go
to MS-DOS Prompt, which is found under Programs from the
Windows Start button.
- Change
the directory by typing, "cd c:\lti\shared\exe\" (or
wherever you have the Lighting Technologies files shared).
This is
where the file OOLTCPP11.DLL is installed.
- Next
type, "c:\windows\system\regsvr32 ooltcpp11.dll". This should
re-register OOLTCPP11.DLL in the registry. If you are using
Windows NT, you must type, "c:\winnt\system32\regsvr32 ooltcpp11.dll".
- You
should now be able to successfully run Lumen Micro.
Q: What
does Run-Time Error '-2147417848(80010108)' mean?
A:
This is related to the graphics card, specifically an incompatibility
with the version of OpenGL utilized by the card. Perform the
instructions outlined below:
-
Update Lumen Micro to the latest build. Check Downloads.
-
Update your video card driver by going to www.windrivers.com and
then locate your video card's manufacturer and model name.
This is essential, even if you have a new card. If
you do not know your make and model, go to Control Panel
| Display | Settings | the "Advanced" button (Win9x) or
"Display Type" button (WinNT or 2000). You will need to
know the following information (If you are unsure about
how to do a search, please email the following information
to support@lighting-technologies.com, along with a brief
description of the problem, your name, and your company
name):
-
Video Card manufacturer
-
Video Card model
-
Driver (Software) Version
-
Your operating system (Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, or 2000)
-
If updating does not work, you can slow down your video
card's hardware acceleration. First, go to the Control Panel
| Display | Settings and look for controllers to your video
card's accelerators. Turn the accelerators down or off.
This may not available for all drivers.
-
If turning the accelerators down or off does not work, or
it is not available, one way to further slow down the card
is to change your color settings to a lower number of colors,
at least while running Lumen Micro. You do not need to reboot
for the changes to take affect. Turn the colors down one
step at a time and try to perform the functions that would
lead to the Run-Time Error.
Q: After
installing Thomas and Betts' Navigator, when I try to
run Lumen Micro 2000, I get "Run-Time Error
438".
A:
If Thomas and Betts Navigator is installed after the LTI 2000
CD installation, this error will occur. A reinstallation of
Lumen Micro from the LTI 2000 CD is necessary.
