Architectural Objects
Q:
How do I specify the position of an
architectural object in Lumen Micro?
A:
Objects are located by the center of the volume of the object.
As an example, let's consider a T-shaped partition (Architectural
Objects; Architectural #3) measuring 10x8x5 feet in X, Y,
and Z, respectively. Specify its location as X=5, Y=4, Z=2.5.
Notice that the Z location of 2.5 feet will place the partition
flush with the floor and the X and Y dimensions place it up
against the lower left corner (plan view) of the room.
Q: How
can I model a sloped ceiling in Lumen Micro?
A:
Use the Architectural Objects (Ceiling Objects; Ceiling Obj.
#1) to mimic the slope of the ceiling, following the rise-and-run
of the slope. The Basic Objects can also be used to model
the horizontal and vertical components of the stair-step affect
required to model the sloped surface.
Q: How
can I model a non-orthogonal room in Lumen Micro?
A: Use
the Basic Objects (Basic Objects; Basic #2 & #3) to model
the angles and turns of the walls. The Basic Objects can
be
used to model the horizontal and vertical components of the
stair-step affect required to model the angled surfaces.
The
user will need to create an initial room that encompasses
the entire non-orthogonal space.
Q: Why
can't I view certain Objects from specific CAD views?
A:
This problem is likely related to the graphics card, specifically
an incompatibility with the version of OpenGL utilized by
the card. This problem usually occurs with graphics cards
utilizing the Permedia 2 chip. Please contact your graphics
card manufacturer or vendor for more details regarding the
Permedia 2 chip, as well as possible solutions for this problem.
Also, updating the video card driver may help with this error.
